Left the East Coast of England and headed for the Lake District on the West of England.  It was only a 2.5 hour drive but it took an extra couple of hours as we got lost trying to find a Tesco Supermarket that we had seen when we first came into York.  Finally found it and loaded up with groceries and wine as we were headed into the middle of nowhere.  We based ourselves in the northern part of the Lake District as we were told it was less touristy and more unspoiled.  We focused our efforts of looking for accommodation around the largest town in the area, Keswick.  As we were here for a week we wanted to find accommodation that had a good kitchen.  We found what we thought was the perfect cottage in the tiny hamlet of Yanwath that was not on most maps.  But our trusty Tom Tom took us right there.  Yanwath is made up of a few houses and a Pub, which our cottage is attached.  We parked in the pub parking lot and went in to pick up our keys.  The manager of the pub showed us around the cottage and it was everything that we hoped it would be.  The building was built in 1683 and has always been a pub and cottage.  The current owners have done a wonderful job of redecorating the cottage and installing state of the art appliances, equipment and furniture but without loosing the cozy feel of the cottage.  We know we will be very happy here for the next week.
