On the Road to Scotland

We truly enjoyed our time in the Lake District not only the incredible walks but Gate Cottage as well.  But we are leaving England and heading for Oban, Scotland.  It's raining so a good day to travel as we depart our cottage at 11:00 and expect to be in Oban around 3:00pm.  The trip was uneventful as we were on a motorway for most of the trip.  Again, I was going 75mph (125kph) and had to keep on the far left of the road with the trucks, caravans and granny's as the rest of the cars sped by me.  We had one interesting situation occur when we stopped to have a picnic at Loch Lomond.  We were sitting at a picnic table when a family of swans (4 gosling's, mom & dad) waddled up from the lake (I mean loch, sorry) and were coming towards us.  The male swan quickly moved in front and started making lots of nasty noises, flapping his wings and stretching his neck to its full upright position.  Rita smartly moved out of the way, but not me as I did the manly thing and stood up and yelled at the noisy swan.  He started pecking me very close to the groin area I stepped up on the picnic table to make myself look even bigger which seemed to help and as the gosling's made there way past the table followed by mom and bad tempered dad followed them.  Back in the car for the final stretch to Oban and found our quaint B&B without difficulty.  The rain had stopped so after we unpacked and showered we went for a walk around town before having a delicious seafood dinner at one of the harbour restaurants.
